SARAH Kick-off meeting

The SARAH (Increased Safety and robust certification for ditching of aircrafts and helicopters) project was officially launched during the two day Kick-Off Meeting held on October 10th and 11th 2016. The meeting was hosted by the coordinator, IBK-Innovation GMBH & CO. KG  at Hamburg, Germany. During this meeting, the partners had the opportunity to meet and decide upon the activities and interactions to be realized in the first months of the project.

The project is built up from a consortium of experts from OEM industries, experienced suppliers of simulation technologies, established research institutions and representatives of the certification authorities. Within the project, novel analysis methodologies and technologies will be developed for improving the safety of the air transport system. Improved understanding of certain environmental conditions (waves, ground aerodynamics, handling and approach conditions) during ditching, impact and landing will also be pursued. Finally, design solutions to increase safety of conventional and unconventional aircrafts and helicopters will be addressed.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 724139.
