In the framework of the SARAH project, the Ecole Centrale Nantes is happy to invite you to a dissemination event of the project results, the 6th of December 2018, from 09:00 to 16:00, in LHEEA, Centrale Nantes (1 rue de la Noë, 44321 Nantes Cedex 3). Within SARAH project, the LHEEA lab. of Ecole Centrale Nantes and CNRS is developing experimental and numerical methods to reproduce, understand and model the details of the complex ditching dynamics in different scenarios.
In particular, a new helicopter ditching facility has been designed, built and operated to study loads and motions of helicopters during the impact phase in calm water and in waves. With this facility, it is possible to study realistic ditching scenarios, predict the resulting structural loading and response, and validate numerical models of ditching.
Demonstration of this facility will be performed during the event, on the SARAH helicopter benchmark which has been co-created, designed and built with Airbus Helicopters R&D engineers. Innovative numerical simulation methods developed by Ecole Centrale Nantes to address this topic will also be presented, as well as other important experimental and numerical developments conducted by the project partners.
The preliminary agenda is the following:
09.30: Welcome coffee
10.00: Ecole Centrale Nantes presentation and project overview
11.00: Helicopter ditching facility demonstration
12.15: Lunch and discussion
14.00: Technical presentations on numerical developments and aircrafts ditching experiments
16.00: Closure
